Impact
In the mid-term perspective (3-5 years after the end of the project), B-Trust is expected to:
✓ Increase public acceptance of biotechnologies through the co-creation programme and guidelines, which will result in funding and biotechnological developments increase.
✓ Contribute to Europe’s economic growth in biotechnology, aiming to maintain and drive Europe’s annual growth rate of 4.1%.
✓ Engage with over 250 advisors and policymakers at national, regional, and EU levels, 5000 SMEs/researchers, 50 representative organisations in biotechnology, and 100 civil society and consumer groups, accelerating advancements in biotechnology.
✓ Enhance biotechnology literacy among European citizens, companies in the agri-food and bio-based industries, and public authorities, enabling effective response to new biotechnologies by balancing risks and rewards.
✓ Influence individual attitudes toward biotechnology, shaping public dialogue, societal norms, and regulations, impacting the pace and extent of adoption.
✓ Contribute to significant sustainable development impacts in areas such as SDG2 Zero Hunger, SDG3 Good Health and Well-being, SDG 7 Affordable and Clean Energy, and SDG 12 Responsible Consumption and Production.
✓ Enhance policy coherence for sustainable development and macro-economic stability in biotechnology.
