On 3 April 2025, the B-Trust project will host its 4th Masterclass on Biostimulants and Biofertilisers, exploring how these natural alternatives to chemical fertilisers and pesticides are perceived by farmers and consumers. The session will provide valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges of introducing biostimulants and biofertilisers into mainstream agricultural practices.

Biostimulants and biofertilisers support plant growth by improving nutrient absorption, increasing resistance to stress, and enhancing crop quality and yield. They offer a more sustainable approach to agriculture, but how are they viewed by those who use them and those who consume the products? This masterclass will share key findings from B-Trust’s co-creation sessions with farmers and consumers, highlighting stakeholder perceptions and acceptance.

The session will feature a balanced view from Professor Patrick du Jardin (University of Liège), who will discuss the reality behind the potential of biostimulants and biofertilisers. A company testimonial from Certis Biologicals will provide an industry perspective on the practical application of these products. Finally, findings from B-Trust’s co-creation sessions will be presented, offering valuable insights into how different stakeholders perceive these biotechnologies.
